HTTP elevates JudeAnne Heath to Executive Director
Having Served as the National Programs Director for the Organization for Over Two Years during a Time of Stabilization Post-Pandemic, Ms. Heath Steps Up to Lead HTTP into Strategic Growth
Washington, D.C. — March 13, 2024 — HTTP, The National Latino Voice in Tech & Telecommunications Policy, proudly announces the appointment of JudeAnne Heath as its Executive Director, effective February 1, 2024. Ms. Heath, who has been an integral part of HTTP as National Programs Director for the past two years, is uniquely positioned to propel the organization into a new phase of growth and national impact ensuring the Latino voice is represented in all aspects of the quickly-evolving technological ecosystem.
Latino communities are online and participate in the digital economy at a rate that is outpacing other groups. HTTP's collective ensures that the Latino perspective has a voice at the table. First formed in 1996 as a program of ASPIRA, to ensure that the voices of U.S. Latinos were fully represented in policy discussions surrounding the Digital Divide, HTTP is now an independent 501c(3) organization engaged in promoting equitable technology policy. HTTP, with JudeAnne Heath at the helm, believes even more strongly today that Latino voices need to be raised and that policy makers must address Latino concerns in the digital landscape.
HTTP’s Board of Directors embarked on the search for a leader who would not only serve as the lead executive but also as the chief ambassador for the organization. They sought an individual prepared to guide an already thriving organization to the next level of strategic development, advocacy, and transformation. A candidate with an in-depth understanding of HTTP’s policy agenda, core programs, community impact, and sustained growth plans was paramount.
Following an extensive research and interview process, Brent Wilkes, Chair of HTTP’s Board and Senior Vice President for Institutional Development at the Hispanic Federation, conveyed his excitement, commenting, "We discovered that the ideal candidate was already part of our team. We were truly impressed by JudeAnne’s profound understanding and visionary approach to our organization. Despite our team being small, our impact is significant, and JudeAnne brings forth an ambitious vision for growth in the upcoming years. Her ability to get the work done and passionately advocate for our mission has been consistently evident in her role as National Programs Director.
“We are thrilled to officially welcome JudeAnne Heath to lead HTTP and our efforts to ensure Latino perspectives are raised and received by policymakers with action taken in the digital landscape,” said Antonio Tijerino, HTTP Board Member and Hispanic Heritage Foundation President and CEO. “The mission of HTTP is critical and timely for our community and a country as we move forward as an organization with a strategic policy agenda, programs and growth for greater impact.”
JudeAnne Heath has over 15 years of experience as seasoned programs professional and community advocate. She brings a wealth of expertise and unique experience to her new role. In addition to directing HTTP in advocacy and programmatic work the last two years, her career is marked by successful management of high-profile programs for litigation consulting firms and start-ups, as well as community advocacy and development work with nonprofit organizations in the Latino community.
Her previous work includes valuable contributions as Senior Director of Community Affairs for LULAC and program management with LULAC National Educational Service Centers. She also sits on the national Hispanic Alumni Board of the University of Notre Dame as Communications Director.
“I am beyond excited and humbled to carry on the long lasting legacy and the impact of HTTP,” Ms. Heath expressed. “HTTP has continuously ensured that policy and technology advancements center Latinos and other historically marginalized communities. In this quick changing and challenging tech landscape, I am honored to continue that mission and give our community a voice at the table. I am committed to advocating for the needs of underrepresented communities and I look forward to continuing to collaborate with HTTP’s CEO Roundtable to promote access, adoption, and the full utilization of technology and telecommunications resources by the Latino community nationwide.”
