Description

Join Hispanic Technology & Telecommunications Partnership and the Joint Center for a conversation about how regulators and policy makers are improving access to digital health care for communities of color and how to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy during the Covid-19 health crisis and beyond.

Telehealth has transformed the delivery and quality of care for every American. Its rapid implementation spurred by the national health crisis has improved access to care, expedited diagnosis and treatment, and limited the risk of person-to-person transmission. New digital tools are making it possible for health care providers to screen patients, assign a risk category, answer questions and recommend next steps within the safety of a person’s home. This new virtual reality has also surfaced the structural fault lines of the digital divide and raises continued concerns about patient privacy.
